A new place to go in the upland area of Cebu is “Terrazas de Flores“, Cebu’s only Botanical Garden. It is located in barangay Malubog, Busay, Cebu City. Just 900 meters away from La Tegola Restaurant and across Malubog Elementary School when going to Balamban.
This two hectares of land is owned by a Cebuano mountain biker who has the heart to nourish the homegrown flowers of the place; hence, landscaping the one hectare of land based on his design. The other hectare as per Atty. June Ediza, the CEO of Terrazas de Flores will soon be developed as a future campsite of Cebu. Students from the University of San Carlos specifically the Department of Biology are assisting the locals and honing them to be more skillful and knowledgeable in terms maintaining and taking care of the garden. Currently, they were able to identify 127 flowers already and are still discovering more species.
Its objective is to get to the world’s stage to showcase the Cebuano garden and to infused to the people the love for botany. The opening of Terrazas de Flores contributed to
the employment and livelihood of the locals. Terrazas de Flores Cafe is also opened to served hot and cold beverages such as coffee, tea, sodas and juices as well as sandwiches and pastries specially made by the villagers.
There are three cottages that you can reserved for special occasions and a separate area for business meetings too.
Cebu’s only botanical garden had just opened its doors last October 01, 2016. Opening from Mondays to Sundays; 7am to 8pm. Entrance fee is Php100 per person which includes 1 round of drinks of your choice Definitely a must go place to appreciate the beauty of nature!
